Introduction

Think back to your childhood. What did you enjoy most when you played outdoors?

Maybe you made messy mud pies by the creekbed, swung on a vine, or played hide-and-seek among the willow trees. Together, play and the outdoors uniquely contribute to learning in young children. This training will enforce your knowledge of fitness for children and introduce ideas for making the most of outdoor play for the children in your care.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify three things you can do to keep the children in your care fit and healthy
  • What you can do to ensure that children have unstructured active play opportunities outside
  •  Learn ideas for creating a natural outdoor environment
