Multicultural Cooking: A Taste of Mexico

Introduction

Cooking activities are appropriate for children aged two and up. Obviously, the kind of involvement and learning is different for a two-year-old and a five-year-old, but both can be involved in the process, learn while cooking and have fun!

Try making some simple multicultural recipes from easily available ingredients.  Give the children the many benefits that cooking together can bring and, at the same time, teach them about the foods of different cultures.

This is a HANDS-ON training and will require you to actively complete the assigned projects with the children in your care.

 Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify the value of cooking

  • Identify what children gain from cooking

  • Learn tips for successful group cooking experiences

  • Learn ideas for recipes to try with children
