This training focuses on developing child guidance skills that will promote a positive environment in the school-age child care setting.

This training is designed to introduce age-appropriate behavior and appropriate adult expectations. Guidance techniques that promote positive behaviors of children in group settings are also presented.  

 Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify age-appropriate expectations for school-age children.

  • Identify inappropriate expectations that adults may have for school-age children.

  • Identify guidance styles that promote positive behaviors in children.

  • Identify appropriate guidance techniques for school-age children.

  • Identify, from a list, three inappropriate guidance techniques.

  • Identify, from a list, three appropriate guidance techniques.
