Introduction

This training is intended to provide assistance in meeting the planning requirements necessary to protect employees and children within a child care facility.  This training will help you develop procedures for handling the following disaster/crises situations:

  • Missing Child

  • Fire

  • Child Abuse

  • Earthquake

  • Evacuation

There are additional topics recommended that you include in your disaster/crises plan that can be researched in the Child Care Licensing Guidebook.

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify worst possible emergency scenarios

  • Understand missing child, fire safety, earthquake, and evacuation procedures

  • Understand the importance of onsite and off-site shelter

  • Identify emergency supplies required and methods for storing them
